yeah, right…
Elanor’s getting about seven more teeth, again, which seems to be the story of my life these past few months. It’s led to a new round of biting everything (including Mama while nursing…OUCH), which I am severely trying to discourage as it hurts like you wouldn’t believe to be bit while a baby nurses.
We were sitting in the living room tonight, playing, and Elanor was sitting in Brett’s lap. He stuckĀ his finger out towards her mouth, and I said, “Brett! Don’t! She’s going to bite you!”
“Oh, no, she won’t.”
“Stop it! Seriously! She can’t think that biting is okay!”
“Oh, come on, Leen, I’m just going to tickle her tongue!”
Please, everyone, roll your eyes with me on that one. Riiiiight.

A more substantial post is coming soon, but it seems that every time I sit down to blog these days, I get called away for something else, and then when I do have the time, like now, I’m far too tired to be coherent. I’m going to try to do some work during naptime tomorrow and the rest of this week. Keep your eyes peeled on Friday for my first meal plan post. I’m excited to share it with you! I’m also working on some posts related to Elanor’s birthday, which is, unbelievable though it may seem, a week from Wednesday. Plus, Brett is competing in the regional barista competition this weekend. So, lots to do, but of course that just means lots to blog about, and that is a good thing!

So my friend Maggie nursed both of her girls. When they’d bite she’d unlatch them and say “ouch, biting hurts mommy.” And try again. It worked for her. They eventually didn’t bite because they wanted to eat. Good luck. I cannot even imagine how bad that must be. Ryan still bites sometimes on the shoulder and that STILL hurts. I can’t imagine it on such a sensitive area.

Elanor and DiDi must be scheming together, because I’m getting bitten right now too! Like Kris said above, I do pull DiDi off and give him a very stern “no”…which seems to work temporarily. I forgot how much I hate teething. I promise you, it gets better after Elanor turns 1 (or at least until her two-year molars come in). Hang in there…and good luck to Brett. Is it already time for that barista competition?!

Ha! Way to go Elanor! Eventhough I know you want her to learn that biting is bad, I am glad she bit Brett-o. I miss you guys. Let’s get together soon. And as always if you need to run some arrand just let me know. I am in need to a trip to the grocery store myself.
