Elanor and I spent quite a while today watching clips on You Tube from Sesame Street, mostly stuff that I remember from when I was a kid. I loved Sesame Street when I was young, and while I don’t remember this clip (it was a few years before my time) it just reminds me of how awesome Sesame Street was.
Her reasons for breastfeeding, and the way she explains it to Big Bird, are perfect. I wish that shows running now would show nursing like this, in a simple, normal, relaxed way. But I really doubt anything like this would be on these days!

That is nice. Isn’t it hypocritical and unbelievably absurd that people still get it a dither over a woman breast feeding her baby in public, but they’re delighted and eager to have woman dress like street-walkers for their voyeurism. I find it appalling. God created women’s breasts and one of the primary purposes (though certainly not the only purpose) of breasts is to feed children. Why on earth is it bad to see a breast feeding a baby, but fine to practically see the whole breast in a decadent manner?!?
Oopsy … sorry about leaping onto my soapbox like that but that is one of my pet peeves. I have many, but that is the one I was ranting about here.
